The Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre
Branding and interior signage
The Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre is a renovated textile mill situated in Halifax, West Yorkshire - the very heart of the Pennines. The EWIC is home to many small and medium sized businesses - ranging from design and digital agencies through to recruitment, film production, health and local council.
Finding your way around this old mill can be quite a chore. Therefore, as part of their rebrand, I was asked introduce signage that led vistiors from reception to their intended destination.
The Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre offers conferencing facilities for it's tenants and outside organisations - this includes fully equipped boardrooms at varying sizes to cater for any event. These event rooms have each been assigned a location name - taken from innovative 'hubs' from around the world. The plan is that each room will develop it's own individual identity - starting with an eye-catching wall mural and bespoke signage.
Clear directional signage in reception - notoriously the first place visitors got lost.
Clear floor identifiers on each floor, in stairwells and in the lift.
Breakout rooms and conference rooms clearly identified.
Conference room identifiers are now highly visable.
Miscellaneous signage.
