Birdie the 13th
Personal project
Birdie the 13th is a conceptual sub-culture brand born from an unlikely collision of two lifelong passions: golf and horror.
Drawing inspiration from vintage horror comic books, battered pulp paperbacks, 1980s slasher movies and the strange folklore that surrounds both sport and superstition, Birdie the 13th imagines a world where moonlit fairways, mysterious disappearances and the legend of Hole 13 exist alongside scorecards, golf carts and club championships.
At the heart of the brand is Jason Fairways – the silent, mask-wearing figure who roams the fairways of the fictional Fairway Hills Golf Club. Through a growing collection of logos, illustrations, artefacts, merchandise concepts and comic-book imagery, Birdie the 13th blends dark humour, nostalgia and storytelling into a visual universe of its own.
This page explores the foundations of that universe: the core Birdie the 13th identity, including the primary logos, hockey mask icon, colour palette and the distinctive visual language that defines the brand. Influenced by aged newsprint, distressed printing techniques, bold black linework and classic horror imagery, the aesthetic deliberately embraces the imperfections and charm of vintage comic books and forgotten horror classics.
What began as a simple creative experiment has steadily evolved into something much bigger — a growing archive of characters, stories, locations and memorabilia from a fictional world that never existed.
This is only the beginning.
More stories from Fairway Hills are coming soon.
