Creative Calderdale is the creative industry network for Calderdale, West Yorkshire.
At least a couple of times a year, Creative Calderdale run a combined networking and speaker event. Since October 2010, I have been responsible for producing the design for the invites.

This invite is the start of a new series of invites that bring more of the focus back on to Creative Calderdale and less on the main speaker. From now on, the events will be named "Creative Visions" and the design for the invites will be very heavily branded Creative Calderdale - colours, typopgraphy and logos.
Sally Wainwright

Sally participated in a discussion about Calderdale, its creative heritage and the inspiration behind some of her best known works such as ‘Last Tango in Halifax’, ‘Unforgiven’ and ‘At Home with the Braithwaites’.
Dominic Wilcox
Award-winning British artist
 
A truly original thinker, Dominic Wilcox’s practice sees him create innovative objects, drawings and installations. In 2002 he graduated from Ron Arad’s renowned Design Products course at the Royal College of Art and has gone on to develop an international reputation for his diverse range of original and creative work.
Horace Panter
Bassist with The Specials
 
Also known as Sir Horace the Gentleman, Horace Panter’s career with British ska band, The Specials has seen him tour the world and release 7 studio albums as well as writing a book about his hedonistic times playing bass in one of the most iconic British bands of the 20th Century. Still touring to this day, Panter is also a well respected artist exhibiting both nationally and internationally to rave reviews. This event promises to be a rare opportunity to gather an insight into Panter’s life in The Specials, his creative practices and what keeps him inspired today.
Paddy Hartley
Internationally renowned artist
 
Born is Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, Paddy Hartley’s extensive career has seen him gain international recognition for his art practice, focusing on the way in which the human body is changed, modified and reconfigured either by choice or circumstance. Addressing subjects such as steroid use in bodybuilding, biomedical research, the ethics of human cloning and conflict acquired injury. His work has taken the form of installation, ceramic, assembled objects, garment creation and modification and digital embroidery.
 
Proving that art can cross over into other disciplines, Paddy has more recently gained recognition in the fashion world for his arresting Face Corset designs which have featured in a number of premiere fashion publications including AnOther Magazine, Vogue Italia and W Magazine. His work has been shot by leading fashion photographers including Rankin, Tim Walker, Michelangelo Di Battista and Nick Knight (for Lady Gaga).
Dan Walker
Concept Artist
 
Based in Hebden Bridge, Dan has worked on some of the biggest film and TV productions of recent years such as Prometheus and Doctor Who, designing key props and set elements. Basically, he gets to draw spaceships all day – which must be one of the world’s best jobs. Ever!
Look and Yes
Film makers
 
Look and Yes gave Creative Calderdale members a special screening of their new film - Made You Look.
 
The film is a documentary about the UK DIY graphic arts scene of the 21st century. Via candid interviews with top British creatives, publishers and agency owners it explores the fact that more people than ever seem to be turning to analogue means of creating things, even though we are living at the height of the digital era.
