Active Soles
Client: Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM)
Transport for Greater Manchester’s health and wellbeing team introduced an initiative to inspire staff members to become more active, and in turn, healthier. This initiative is called Active Soles and is focused on staff walking more. Suggested activities included walking as part of the daily commute, walking work meetings, going out for walks at lunchtime and using the stairs instead of the lift. Company dress policy was changed to permit staff to wear trainers to work - further encouragement to get more active. Staff were also encouraged to share their walking activities on social media and the company’s Yammer site - helping to inspire others.
To help promote the scheme, vinyl ‘footprint’ stickers were installed in reception, playfully directing staff away from the lifts and to the staircase. The scheme was promoted on the company intranet and Yammer sites and on tv monitors and posters around the head office. Promotional giveaways were considered as staff incentives.
The logo and supporting graphics for the scheme are created using is a coloured shoe lace surrounding the logotype - creating a vibrant, playful footprint shaped graphic.
