Clive Grinyer
Design evangelist
He has this to say about the importance of design in digital experiences: “Design has moved from artefacts to abstract services, harnessing the power of digital capabilities into transparent experiences that just work, beautifully. From banks to public services, the tools of design are driving the adoption of innovation. As a designer who was worked across digital technology, public services and commerce, I will discuss how design tools interact with innovation to achieve excellent, and often invisible, experiences.”
Grinyer’s career has seen him work with some of the world’s leading tech companies such as Samsung, TAG Mclaren Audio and Orange Telecom as well has holding senior positions at the Design Council and Royal Society of Arts and lecturing at Glasgow School of Art. Now Customer Experience Director at Barclays, Clive has drawn on his extensive knowledge of design to host talks and lectures at global events such as TED, NESTA and the Royal Society of Arts.
Arty Party
Film Screening
HOME Artist Film has allowed Creative Calderdale to screen Bob and Roberta Smith's Arty Party at their February 2016 Creative Visions.
Building upon Bob and Roberta Smith’s famous 2011 work Letter to Michael Gove, the film contains an unusual blend of performance, interviews and imagined scenes. Part documentary, part punk-road movie and part political fantasy, Art Party charts a surreal journey to the 2013 Art Party Conference, where Bob and Roberta Smith and other speakers championed the importance of art, its place in the education system, and in society in general.
